You get circa thirty miles of pure electric range which is enough for most average commutes but with the reassurance of the petrol engine taking over when the electric is used. When it does run on petrol it is acting as a full hybrid with the engine adding charge to the battery so that it will assist the petrol engine improving fuel consumption. Charging can be done from the included 3 pin domestic charger so no need to install an electric charge point at home and of course fully chargeable at any public charge point. Our experience is that our customers love the Kuga plug in hybrid with the majority using them as a full electric car for local running around and commuting day to day whilst charging overnight and then only making use of the petrol engine for longer journeys.
